Two kinds of consultation
Every consultation booked above falls into one of two categories. Our team decides which one applies after reading what you have described, and tells you before the call takes place.
Free consultation
Strictly limited to basic queries about a proposed assignment — what the work would involve, how it is carried out, what it would take and roughly how long.
- Questions about an assignment you are considering giving us
- Scope, process, documents required, indicative timelines
- Whether a matter falls within our practice at all
Professional consultation
Any consultation directed at resolving your query or your problem, or which amounts to professional advice, is chargeable and is quoted before it takes place.
- Advice or an opinion on a specific set of facts
- Working out how to deal with a notice, a default or a transaction
- Charged time includes the research and analysis a matter needs, not only the call
How we decide which one your consultation is. If your consultation is limited to a query relating to a proposed assignment, it is treated as a free consultation. If it relates to the resolution of your query or to solving your problem, it is treated as a professional consultation and is chargeable.
Our team reviews what you describe when you book, and tells you which of the two applies before the consultation takes place. Nothing is ever charged without your agreement.
You are not charged anything when you book. No payment is taken on this website at any stage of the booking.
What happens after you book
- You receive the first email straight away — an acknowledgement of your online booking. At this stage the slot is provisional. It may be cancelled by our team if a partner is unavailable or in unavoidable circumstances, in which case we will offer you an alternative.
- You then receive a second email from our team. It will state either that your consultation is being treated as a free consultation and is confirmed, or that it amounts to a professional consultation, together with our quotation of the charges.
- If charges apply, confirm within 24 hours. The booking is treated as confirmed only once you accept the quotation within that time. If we do not hear from you, the slot may be released to someone else.
- Joining details follow. Once confirmed, you will hold a calendar invitation with the video link. A member of our team will take the call.

11:00 AM – 12:30 PM · 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
8:00 PM – 10:30 PM — for overseas clients only, so that the call falls within working hours in your own country.
